Would you like to lose weight and still drink Beer and Wine? In our weight loss journey with the Ketogenic Diet we were nervous that we would have to ban beer and wine for life!
To be honest, we enjoyed our occasional husband and wife Friday night getaways without the kids enjoying dinner and a movie with the traditional stop at a casual lounge. After all, this activity kept us young!
If you have kept up with the articles and did your due diligence researching this amazing Keto diet then you know that the key is to initially
flush your body out of harmful sugars (carbohydrates), reach Ketosis Nirvana and then train your body to rely on healthy fat for energy.
Eating foods in healthy fats has so many amazing benefits as covered in “What is the Ketogenic Diet” that you instantly feel healthier, lighter and stronger. You will feel invigorated and empowered to choose when to “carb up”. The key word here is you get to CHOOSE.
How powerful is that word!?
Once your body is an expert at converting energy from healthy fat then you can participate in the Cyclical ketogenic diet that involves periods of higher-carb refeeds, such as 5 ketogenic days followed by 2 high-carb days.
As stated in Healthlines.com article around the Cyclical Keto Diet:
“Cyclical ketogenic dieting involves adhering to a standard ketogenic diet protocol 5–6 days per week, followed by 1–2 days of higher carb consumption.
These higher-carb days are often referred to as “refeeding days,” as they’re meant to replenish your body’s depleted glucose reserves.
If you undertake a cyclical ketogenic diet, you switch out of ketosis during refeeding days in order to reap the benefits of carb consumption for a temporary period.”
In Laymen’s terms, you can continue to lose weight and now enjoy that bottle of beer or two with the buds or ladies.
For my friends who are skeptical and want to ease in when drinking beer then please find a list below of KETO friendly beers (you can also purchase and stock up on some of my favorites from the SHOP menu):
